Now! The POINT of this entry. After this post from hermeown, stuff kinda happened in my brain, as it is wont to do. And, uh. Uh. Some of you may also recall that I mentioned I was super amused at the thought of Him moving the boys in with Mojo so they can all play the Perfect Nuclear Family Game. Probably more amused than is healthy.

And then this is what my brain did. No thanks to hermeown. General warnings for inappropriate language/behavior. You know, my usual.

HIM: Boys, you're getting a babysitter.
BRICK: Whatever.
BOOMER: Yay! New friend!
BUTCH: Is she hot?
HIM: Butch, don't be rude. It's a he.
BOOMER: Is he hot?
BRICK/BUTCH: What is wrong with you.
HIM: Well, he is very dapper.
*Him opens the front door with a flourish to reveal...*
SLENDY: ...
BOYS: ...
HIM: Boys, meet your Uncle Slendy!
BRICK: Where is your face? Why are your arms so long?
BUTCH: Did your mom try to abort you or something?
HIM: BUTCH DON'T BE RUDE.
BOOMER: Uncle Slendy! *glomps*
HIM: Oh, you're so good with kids!
*crickets.*

Has there been adequate discussion about how nerdy I am about that thing I am nerdy about? I think not.

I was pretty much the last person on the face of the planet to see Tangled despite being ridiculously excited about it ever since I first heard Glen Keane was being put in charge of his own Disney movie (waaaaaay back in college!). After finally seeing it just last week (I KNOW, I SUCK AT NERDING), I have pretty much been consumed with the premise of Boomer being utterly infatuated with this movie and making Him take him to see it like eleven times. And Him would protest, except, uh, general shiny prettiness, MUSICAL HELLO, and Mother-fucking Gothel. (Yes, that was deliberate! Feel free to point it out!)

So OF COURSE Him totally supports Boomer's love of this musical, much to Brick's and Mojo's chagrin. (LJ, have we discussed how enormously amused I am by the idea of Him moving himself and the Boys in with Mojo so they can play the whole Perfect Nuclear Family game?) Because Boomer and Him are family bonding over this Disney Princess movie, you understand, and so they are frequenting the theater and having talks at the dinner table about how Rapunzel holds up to Disney's previous princesses and Brick and Mojo want to stab things because WHY and Butch is just like Is she hot yes or no it's a simple question and then there's this sidetrack while Him and Boomer try to explain Disney princesses are not SUPPOSED to be hot they are supposed to be CUTE because those are the best kind and Butch just goes like So no and then Him and Boomer are like ARE YOU EVEN PAYING ATTENTION BUTCH SERIOUSLY WE'RE NOT USING BIG WORDS HERE

Also? The best part? THEY SING AT HOME. Like, ALL THE TIME. They have the soundtrack on endless repeat blasting in the observatory and Brick is like MOJO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS and Mojo says YOU WILL REFER TO ME AS YOUR FATHER AND I CAN'T BECAUSE OTHER DAD IS CHANNELING THIS FROM HELLSPACE OR SOMETHING, THIS IS BEYOND THE REALM OF SCIENCE!

Boomer sings all Rapunzel's parts and Him sings all Mother Gothel's parts. By the way.

And they pull Brick into it when they need someone with Rapunzel-length hair to REALLY make it work. And Brick hates everything. But especially Boomer and Daddy Him.

In summary: Boomer = Rapunzel, Him = Mother Gothel, Brick = Rapunzel (hair stand-in).

gabzillaz's incredibly gorgeous fanart of the Girls and the Boys from that insane thing I'm writing resulted in a deluge of new readers. So, um, hi to anyone who has come across my silly little journal! If you have friended me or are currently lurking, Hi, I'm sbj, I like to write, I am a giant fucking nerd about The Powerpuff Girls, and I also have the mouth of a trucker. TEF!Butch's dialogue? Yeah, that's basically how I talk irl, except I'm less of a misogynistic prick.

I'm really flattered by all the praise and kind of totally blindsided by it; I'm a blushing sputtering mess and at some point soon I hope to get around to replying to the reviews because there have been some really really nice ones and idek what to say I'm that bowled over. In any case, thank you to everyone who has dropped me a line, and thanks especially to the wonderful and lovely gabzillaz for the gorgeous artwork she's done that has resulted in this! (Spoiler alert: she is going to continue to be wonderful and lovely in the future. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.)

This is kind of well-timed, actually, because I've been wanting to do a post that amalgamated all the TEF-related goodies I've received (so... fanart, basically) for posterity's sake (some of it, like jupitrie's rendition of the Girls' shoe ads (♥♥♥) is no longer online) and also to share things that make me all warm and fuzzy and insanely gleeful. JUST INDULGE ME, OKAY. I think I'll eventually try and make the fanart part of the Sticky, but for now, I'll just toss it all up here in a disheveled pile of LOVE and AWESOMENESS.

• jupitrie was the first on the fanart scene with her take on the Girls' shoe ads (admittedly different from their description in TEF but shit, that doesn't make them any less amazing) - Buttercup Blossom Bubbles

• And finally gabzillaz has more TEF-inspired cool things and hilarious things that I encourage everyone to partake of

But wait! There's more! (Warning: if you are going to hang out, then I am going to take every single opportunity I can to have you indulge me and my whims, of which there are a great many, mind.) Because the thing is there are just so many other talented people who hang out in this little corner of the internet and I would be remiss if I didn't take the time to pimp them like it's Sale Tuesday at Anthropologie and I just won the fucking lottery. I have no shame. I know the best people in this fandom and can't believe they let me hang out with them.

• philosophicwax is the best PpG/RrB writer that nobody knows about; if you want someone who can do smart and funny and haunting and poetic (not to mention a killer Mojo voice) then she is your fucking Ace in the hole, seriously, GO READ EVERYTHING SHE'S EVER WRITTEN NOW
• Aforementioned triple-threat Hermeown, who was playing the epic fic game LIKE A BOSS a millenia before I toddled on the scene
• Alicorn (alicornmoon) is the go-to woman for Hibbles (Him/Bubbles), not to mention she is quite literally THE NICEST PERSON you will meet in this fandom, ever
• The remarkably insightful Somewei (wei_chan), who has to beat off the people begging her to finish her own epic with a stick (you think I'm making a funny, but I am actually major srs!face rn)
• Quillified (quillbender) is doing drabbles that need to go into your eyes right now, and when I say right now I mean get-a-time-machine-and-fly-back-to-last-week RIGHT NOW
• xjabooo, AKA P MY CAPS BUDDY WHO WANTS YOUR INPUT NO SERIOUSLY GIVE HER YOUR INPUT BECAUSE THAT IS HOW MUCH SHE CARES ABOUT IMPROVING, ALSO HER TASTE IN MUSIC, WE'RE GONNA HAVE A PARTY AND OUR DANCING'S GONNA SCARE YOU BUT WDEGAF (Seriously though, read her drabbles, give your input!)

You're awesome. You just are. For all that fandom disappoints, saddens, even infuriates me, you guys always come in and remind me how fucking wonderful it is to be here. You are my cool crowd that I can't quite believe exists. It's like, I look around and see myself surrounded by all these awesome people, and I'm kind of flabbergasted by it; it seems too good to be true. How did I even get here?!

I love your comments, and I don't just mean the reviews (though don't get me wrong, those are awesome!). I love the discussion, the back and forth, the character analyzation, the voicing of our frustrations, the celebration of what triumphs there are, and the complete and utter cracktitious madness that helps keep us sane (or laughing, at least). It's all incredibly healing. Every time I lose my faith in fandom you come in and restore it back a hundredfold.

All this talk of music and songing and the like... quite a few of you were posting your playlists for awhile, and I was like I GOTTA GET IN ON THIS AT SOME POINT but keep finding myself incredibly daunted by the SHEER MAGNITUDE of the task it would be to list out every single song on my PpG-related playlists. Because, see, the thing is. I don't just have pairing playlists. As you know, I have playlists for action scenes, scenes for specific scenes in TEF, scenes that will never see the light of written day but evoke something I like that gets worked into my fic in some other way (or just a contemplative lj post), and then there's the songs for individual characters, and this isn't just the Girls and the Boys, you guys. IDEK where the fuck to start.

So I'm going to do it this way - I'm going to turn on my mp3 player and skip till I hit a song that is somehow related to PpG for me, and then you guys get to be subjected to me nerding out about it for a bit.
