Like a boss, baby
May. 30th, 2011 11:31 pmI busted out five pages on TEF today. FIVE WHOLE PAGES. This is significant! It is significant because the writing muscles have not been kind; they are still recovering from my shitty 2010, but today, oh, today. Today I wrote five pages. This is significant.
For the first time since 2009 I found things coming really easily to me. Okay, maybe not really easy, but relatively easy compared to how it's been going. I was able to sit down and instead of wasting half an hour staring blankly at my computer screen I just started typing and words came out. That was awesome. I even paused at some point during those five pages and went, "This is awesome." I haven't felt that good (or been that productive) in a while.
Granted, one of those pages was salvaged from something I wound up cutting from ch10a. Really really glad I keep an "OUT" document for TEF. I had to tweak it some to fit, naturally, but yeah, kind of awesome to be writing and go "Hey, that thing I cut out of the last chapter could totally fit here." Lesson: SAVE YOUR SHIT. Even when it's awful! It won't just make for hilarious, cringe-inducing reflections upon your Shitty Writing Stage - sometimes it will actually be good, and useful!
So basically, I wrote four pages today, re-purposed previously deleted material to bring it up to five, and that took me... maybe three to four hours? That really isn't that bad for me. It averages out to roughly an actual written page per hour, which I hadn't been hitting during Daily Morning Writing Time. And those five pages are in addition to the previous work I'd done this weekend (mmmmaybe two pages?), so I'm riding that Highway Unicorn pretty hard rn. UNF I FEEL BADASS.
tl;dr, I'm feeling like a pretty hot bitch right now. I need a HBIC icon of Blossom. Or Brick. OrMojo HIM. Hope I can keep the magic going during tomorrow's DMWT. That will be the true test of hot bitchedness.
I suppose I should also say much of my success this weekend can be attributed to reading sex!fic this weekend that was genuinely SEXY. I did not think such a thing existed anymore. TY, ILU. You know who you are, WINK.
Oh also I sent out the first part of ch11 for beta. YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHH where's a CSI gif when a lady needs one.
