Eventually I will post some rambling about characters and relationships inspired by a pretty boring three-hour movie I recently saw, but for now you all get memes. I know, I know, I'm too good to you.

This is that month-long meme I've seen going around; for nerdtastic purposes I am going to try and tie these into PpG/writing as much as possible 8B

For all that I found PpGZ a huge disappointment, I freaking loved the girls' transformation music. I pretty much never get sick of listening to this piece and it's all of forty some odd seconds long. The energy is fantastic and essential listening for me whenever I'm planning to write a scene involving the girls kicking major ass. Or even minor ass.

The way this meme is supposed to go I'm supposed to post something every day, starting with the first of the month, but I'm pretty much just going to post the rest whenever I feel like it. Fah.

What an asstacularly long day, urgh. Long day at work means I reward myself with another post on the same day that is not fic-related.

Day 02 → Your favorite movie
(aka time for sbj to sound like a pretentious asshole)

I know it's the obvious choice for me, but in all seriousness this movie really was instrumental in a lot of RL choices I made (yes, feel free to laugh). This was the first movie I saw that taught me the value of the theater experience as well as the beauty of a film print vs. a digital print. I saw this on opening day in super mondo wide screen and am severely bummed that not even the Region 2 release's widescreen (no Region 1 WS exists) is as gloriously huge as the original print was. I remember the specks of dust I saw on the print as the Professor looked to cam (right after he created the girls) and the detail of the paint on the walls of the girls' bedroom in that jaw-dropping, massive truck out that started in Mojo's lab. I could go on and on about this movie, really. This movie turned me into a film geek. It's a severely underrated piece of work, not least of all because of its visual beauty - it's a fantastic character study as well. That scene on the asteroid? God. The girls are dead on, absolutely perfect. If you write fic for PpG ever - ever - you need to watch and study and know that scene. Even if you don't, it is a prime example of outstanding characterization.

Also it's a lot of fun to watch tiny five-year-old girls kicking booty.
