You're gonna bring yourself down

Continuing last week's meme entry, here are the remaining two of my Top Five Scenarios Involving the PpG/RrB in A Musical Montage.

  • Telephone by the queen of the world Lady Gaga. So, this whole thing is basically the Mayor calling the Girls, only to reveal that the villains of Townsville have taken them (and the Professor) hostage and have relocated them to holding cells in Mojo's lab. Also, they have the Hotline. Boomer starts off by answering the phone, then everybody (minus Him, Brick, Sedusa, and Princess) starts dancing like a motherfucker. I love this song and this is so freaking awesome in my head, guys, I swear. They spend the whole time dancing and taunting the Girls (Buttercup and Blossom are just exasperated and bored while Bubbles can't help but groove a little herself ♥), and the Mayor's listening on the other end of the line all confused, and then when Beyonce's part comes in on the song, Brick, Sedusa, and Princess strut in led by resident Ruler of Badass Him. Team Red takes over the dance floor and goes all BAMF, making everybody forget their life had meaning. Undecided on whether Butch interrupts them and Brick plows a fist through his chest and yanks out his heart, causing Butch to hit the floor, but it would definitely lead into an overhead shot and floor choreography of everyone—Butch included, scrubbing his heart against the floor to leave a bloody mess behind and offering it to cam (HE LEFT HIS HEART ON THE DANCE FLOOR GUYS).
  • All These Things That I've Done by The Killers. This gets nuts and nerdy, so everyone just bear with me. (Figure Townsville is ten years older here.)

When there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
    One more son

(Sun setting over a smoldering, battered Townsville. Cut to the Professor with his head buried in his arms in front of a wall of glowing monitors.)

(Cut to Boomer, staring up at something glowing off-screen)
    If you can hold on
    If you can hold on

(Close on the Professor's mouth as he says this, fade to Boomer as he says this)
    hold on

(Truck out on Boomer, scenery changes to sunrise over Townsville, his expression hardens very slightly. He and his brothers hover over the city; fast truck out to reveal scores of Townsville's villains, ready to attack.)

(Singing starts. Close up on each as they attack.)
    (Mojo)
I wanna stand up, I wanna let go
You know, you know - no you don't, you don't

    (Amoeba Boys)
I wanna shine on in the hearts of men

    (Butch)
I want a meaning from the back of my broken hand

    (Sedusa)
Another head aches, another heart breaks
I am so much older than I can take
And my affection, well it comes and goes

    (Brick)
I need direction to perfection, no no no no

(Various cuts of all villains working together to destroy Townsville)
    Help me out
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
    Yeah

(Princess, blasting a commemorative statue of the Girls with one palm extended to her dad, waiting for a cash handout)
oh don't you put me on the backburner
You know you got to help me out, yeah

(Grubber, staring off dramatically into the distance)
And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son

(Widen to reveal rest of the Gangreen Gang)
    These changes ain't changing me
The bold-hearted boy I used to be

(Various cuts as the attack goes on)
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the backburner
You know you got to help me out, yeah
    You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, you're gonna bring yourself down

(People fleeing. Boomer stands alone in front of a store window, his back to its display of multiple TV screens showing the various acts of violence going on around the city. He simply watches, muttering to himself. As the chorus builds, cut to various villains working Townsville over, including the police/military forces sent out to stop them.)
    I got soul, but I'm not a soldier (x10)
(Chorus swells. Three familiar streaks explode onto scene, bringing the violence to an abrupt stop. Smoke clears. The Girls are fucking pissed.)

    (Blossom)
    Time

    (Buttercup)
    Truth

    (Bubbles)
    And Hearts

    (Epic fight time.)
Yeah, you know you got to help me out
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the backburner
You know you got to help me out, yeah

(Fight is turning in the villains' favor; there's too many of them overwhelming the Girls.)
You're gonna bring yourself down, yeah
    You're gonna bring yourself down
Yeah, oh don't you put me on the backburner
You're gonna bring yourself down, yeah
    You're gonna bring yourself down

(Sky is burning red with smoke and sunset. Girls are ragged, beaten, spent. A massive shadow looms over them, and they look up to see Him.)
Over and in, last call for sin
While everyone's lost, the battle is won
With all these things that I've done

(In the safehouse where all of Townsville's citizens have fled to, a horrified, grief-stricken Professor sinks to his knees in front of a dumbstruck crowd, all watching a massive wall of monitors displaying the goings-on in Townsville.)

(Villains are celebrating in various locales, most of them in the Mayor's office. Boomer is by himself in Mojo's lab, sitting in front of three separate vertical liquid-filled cells, each containing an unconscious Powerpuff Girl.)
All these things that I've done

    (Blossom)
    Time

    (Buttercup)
    Truth

    (Bubbles)
    And hearts

(Boomer's eyes linger on the last cell. He stands, his face moving off-screen as he walks to the control panel and presses the release button. Liquid starts draining out of the Girls' cells.)
    If you can hold on
    If you can hold on

(Girls slowly come to. Bubbles blinks and looks out over an empty lab. Sun rises over Townsville.)

There's one more Top Fives meme I have to finish, but as it contains dirty items (AHEM PERSON WHO ASKED, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE *STERN LOOK*) I will be f-locking that entry next week. Not to worry! I will also post a public entry continuing the 30-Days meme I still have yet to finish.

...I'm a little in love with your script-thing for "All These Things That I've Done."
Putting aside the fact that I know that album by heart (well, basically - I used to be able to tell you what the track numbers were for each song. If I remember properly, "Change Your Mind" is number eight*.)
I really like this darker theme you've described. It's very vivid; the part from the close-up of Sedusa to that of Princess' is particularly well-suited to the lyrics.

If I had more of that stuff I don't have (time? what's that?) I'd so try my hand at animating this.

*Just Googled it - I was right. /dork
