You go ahead let your hair down (and fuck the rest of 'em)

For fuck's sake, people need to stop with this mentality that happy, well-adjusted girls/women who like dresses and heels and cute things and don't go around whinging about their EPIC ANGST!!! in their black jeans while they throw back a beer with the guys are either a) FAILING at being strong or b) lacking in depth.

Yeah, because when a girl wears a skirt, that automatically means she's weak. When she beams and coos over baby animals, that automatically means she's a ditzy idiot. When she jams her foot into those fabulous five-inch-heeled stiletto boots, that automatically means she's a victim, a target, incapable of recognizing that those high heels are actually the ball and chain meant to shackle all womankind and that in wearing them she is undoing all that the Feminist Movement has accomplished. Because we all know that Real Women Don't Wear Skirts, or Heels, or React With Any Emotion Other Than Indignant Rage, or Engage in Anything Remotely Resembling Femininity at All. (AND GOD FORBID SHE HAVE A CHILD.)

FUCK YOU W/E, all of you. WTF/E. Take your fool idiocy elsewhere before one of them jams their fucking five-inch-spike-of-a-stiletto-heel down your throat bursts into weak womanly tears!

Speaking of footwear-related items are these not the most fabulous socks you've seen OR WHAT

THESE TOO

Day 14 → A non-fictional book

I don't have a lot to say about this one. Pretty much any advice I may have given on my lj about writing is stolen from this book. While it is specifically about writing, I think anybody who engages in a creative endeavor seriously, be it writing or painting or I dunno, underwater knitting if that's your thing, should read it; it is the best book on the creative process that I've read and I highly recommend it.

And, because I guess I'm feeling on a roll or something,
Day 15 → A fanfic

Imagination, by [livejournal.com profile] philosophicwax. And I know, "Oh, it's so incestuous, you're just reccing your lj friends' fics sbj, come on," but for serious, [livejournal.com profile] philosophicwax is one of the best and most unknown, underrated PpG/RrB writers out there. This particular fic was requested by me, and of course I was a little bitch and went all "MAKE IT BRICK/BUBBLES IN PPGMOVIE!VERSE. ALSO STICK THE WORD CONSANGUINEOUS IN THERE, MWAHAHAHA." And she more than rose to the challenge, and wrote something AWESOME.

Very mildly Brick/Bubbles - really, it's only them talking - and their voices are just fantastically done; I mean, it sounds like Brick and Bubbles. She also works their meeting seamlessly into PpGMovie!verse; there's enough BUH? and Huh, and Hmm... there to make it feel totally organic. Not to mention it's just a very (surprisingly!) thoughtful fic.

And it made me want to watch the movie, which is never a bad thing. ♥.

Day 16 → A song that makes you cry (or nearly)

Told you I was on a roll. I heard this song long before it was on Glee, long before I knew it was Michael Jackson's favorite song. The first time I heard it I definitely cried.

This song is also a startlingly appropriate fit for Bubbles. (Which makes her seem much sadder, doesn't it? AND THEY SAY CUTE GIRLS DON'T HAVE ANY DEPTH ///rant)

First of all, I have to say I love your song choice. I love listening to that song on repeat cause its absolutely wonderful and it often brings me to tears too!!! Anyways, I totally agree with you on the skirt issue. Usually the people I know who wear skirts all the skirts are FRIGGING fierce. The only thing I hate in regards to skirts and heels is when men objectify women just because of what they wear. I have this floormate that believes that women should only wear high heels because it makes them look hot, and he usually follows that comment with how men are the superior sex, but he's a dumb asshole.
