GIP and statuses and Blossom's pretty hair!

GIP. BLSM IRL, fo' sho. I have self iconlove, ♥!

Dudes I am so backed up on, well, everything. Here is the lowdown on "everything," in order of what probably matters most to you guys:

TEF:
We be workin' on it! Again, what should be (fingers crossed!) last round of beta notes on ch5. Meaning I've got one last round of revisions left. Once that's posted, that puts about... 7 chapters in beta (THAT'S RIGHT, YOU HEARD ME), including the beta-ready draft of ch10 I finished just last week. [livejournal.com profile] mathkid and [livejournal.com profile] juxtaposie gots their work cut out for them; ch8 on got ridiculously, epicly long.

Ch10 was actually going to be longer, stupidly enough (beta-ready draft clocked in at 65 pages). And that's actually a step down from ch8 and ch9 (89 and 94 pages, respectively - I am enormously cruel to my betas. Jesus I can't believe those numbers DX). The problem I was running into before I made the decision to break ch10 off where I did was... it was going on too long, to the point where I had a pretty big climax-sort-of-thingy and then another climax-sort-of-thingy happening immediately after it. The more I looked at it the more I realized that continuing into that second climax detracted heavily from the first, not to mention it threw the flow of the entire chapter off. So TEF gets another chapter. A smaller one, not quite one of the massive pieces of ridiculousness each chapter is turning out to be. I very much like where ch10 ends right now, actually! But of course we'll see how Team Beta feels about it!

Essay:
I have spent so much time away from this thing! Which probably needs a proper link post, but w/e, I'll do that later. EH. I'm probably going to start on the Reds section next week. I've got other business going on this week.

Once that's done I also plan on doing a mini-post about the Girls in general. I don't know if there's any serious need for it in fandom, but I've just had a lot of thoughts rolling around in my head lately about the Girls' characters, and while I've touched on a few things in the PpG/RrB attempt-at-intelligent-discourse thing there's more I want to get out about them, because I am a Giant Fucking Nerd and that is how Giant Fucking Nerds do.

Memes!:
"SHUT UP SBJ NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR DUMB MEMES." To that I say Well W/E, FU. Because I am so fool, I'm accumulating a list of memes that I plan on doing at some point! After I finish this dumb Post for 30 Days meme that I have UTTERLY FAILED AT. (My reasoning is that I had no digital pics of myself from ten years ago, so then I had to set about the tedious process of not only locating a picture of myself from ten years ago, but locating a friggin' scanner, because seriously, who still has scanners. And then I stopped caring about being on time, but I fully intend to finish, so I still get credit. Nyeh.)

Other memes that I have amassed!
  • This fic tropes meme, which is OFF-LIMITS IN CAPITAL LETTERS until I finish TEF (only 8, possibly 9 more chapters to go!),
  • The amazing incredible stupendliferous Chromatic Casting Meme that was going around and is a billion internet weeks old (STFU I CAN TOTALLY DO IT FOR A CARTOON, YOU NAYSAYERS CAN GO DIAT), and
  • [livejournal.com profile] the_audren_file's 30 People Who Fit the Bill meme, which will be interesting because that assumes I socialize enough to know 30 people in the first place.

Oh and also I am planning on doing more of these. Yeah I'm an idiot.

OH AND ALSO I HAVE THESE QUESTIONS TO ANSWER! My Fool Meter, it goes so high, can you see it?! But hey, I think I've covered [livejournal.com profile] animegirl0087, [livejournal.com profile] x_kissez, [livejournal.com profile] corpatulent, and [livejournal.com profile] xjabooo! Sort of. Mostly? I can't say I know when TEF ch5 will get posted, because what schedule was in place has been severely thrown off track, and THAT is because it involves primarily one person and incidentally two persons, all with lots of day-to-day business to take care of, like classes and homework and working and paying rent and bills and TAXES and occasionally moving and switching jobs and avoiding sickness and letting our families know we're not dead or broke yet and socializing IRL so we don't get consumed by the crazy! I'd love to tell you when it'll get posted, but the truth is a big fat IDK :C I'm sorry! But hang in there! I AM AMASSING CHAPTERS, AND IT WILL GET DONE! Posted too, eventually!

Finally, the most important part of this post! I swear, Miyabi (the rightmost girl in this vid) has, like, PERFECT Blossom hair! For srs, BLSM IRL would be rocking hair like this. SHE'S EVEN GOT THE DAMN BOW, I MEAN, REALLY.

Man that is some silly dancing though XD

Today is a good day for sbj to find rl blsm look-alikes.

YEY TEF. And I can't wait for your Brick/Blossom-say, they aren't my favorite pairing(but really no rrb/ppg is :'D) so I'd like to see how you, a twu bwu shipper handles it. ALSO I LOVE THOSE EPISODE TRANSCRIPTS.

Very Blossom-ie up there, though why does everyone give Blossom curls/thick waves?I know she had...flippy(?) hair as a kid, but most people I know who had that type of hair now sport pin-straight hair.

Give Claudia Cogan a slightly shorter bob in this picture and she's totally Buttercup(in my head.)

Ha, I'm not sure why curly is such a popular interpretation of Blossom's hair either! Maybe it's the interpretation of the bangs? So many of the straight-with-bangs I've seen (at least in style and fashion photos) tend to be very mod, which doesn't seem Blossom's style at all, so maybe that's why curls are such a popular interpretation for her. I also think there's a tendency towards curls because they're more feminine/pretty from a visual standpoint, and it seems to be a pretty widely shared fandom opinion that Blossom is the prettiest of the girls.

Oh, I wish I could see Claudia's hair better in that shot! I'll take your word for it on the Buttercup resemblance :)

I just think she'd be the one who'd be pretty and trendy, but -sensible-. Instead of miniskirts and crop tops, She'd be doing that high waist pants and vests look thats going around. Curly hair just seems so...unfitting with her image in my head. I can see how it works, but I can't accept it :'D.

Ahh, I guess it is a bad shot hair-wise. She's a comedian, so there are clips, but she had this mid-length bob-ish cut and with her green eyes/expression it was just very Buttercup-like to me !

Certainly canonically, Blossom wouldn't even remotely be concerned with something as frivolous as curling her hair - again, I think the curls come from a lot of fans (myself included) associating them with almost extreme femininity. More than likely, Blossom would be rocking the straight hair... while Bubbles would sneak to her sister's bedside to curl Blossom's hair as she was sleeping XD

Though damn her expression is awesomely Buttercup
