Time to waste time!

TEF ch3 I did work on it today, yay. MEME TIME.

Comment with a story I've written, and I will tell you one thing I knew, learned, or wondered about while writing the story that didn't make it onto the page.

God, I'm really going to have to dig deep into my brain for some of this stuff. Drabbles are obviously excluded, since... they're like, five sentences long most of them D:

Vice Versa. :DDD

ARGHBLAGH THIS WAS SO GD LONG AGO D:

Okay, okay, lemme think... one thing.

One thing I wondered about... was how Bubbles would react now if Boomer had told her - at that moment - that he loved her again. And it didn't make it to the page because I needed something to base the sequel off of (THAT I STILL HAVE BITS AND PIECES OF ON MY HD BUT HAVEN'T ACTUALLY FINISHED WRITING, EVER).

... Does that count?

Are you ever actually going to finish it? Just out of curiosity. Because I pine for blues fic like BAD.

OOF. I did, years ago, write bits and pieces of a follow-up. However, it's one of those cases where I've been so far away from it for awhile that I think it'd be hard for me to pick up again. The short answer is I may, but if not, then what I'll probably do is toss what I have written up here in a "totally fucking rejected" post, along with a full description of how I intended the story to resolve.

Fashion Sense!

[identity profile] essbeejay.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I went into Fashion Sense with the impression (from, oddly, the not-really-canon City of Clipsville ep) that of her sisters, Bubbles came off as the only one able to maintain a coherent conversation with the opposite sex (when it came to dealing with boys in a romantic sense). That morphed into this whole character interpretation of mine (not that I'm laying claim to originating it, mind you!) that Bubbles is better with people, that even when she's flustered she still comes off as adorable rather than dumb/ditzy, and these two qualities combined would give her an edge over her sisters when it came to flirting/maintaining boy relations.

Whiiiiiich obviously didn't all make it into Fashion Sense, it being so short, but it pretty much stuck with me ever since and continues on in TEF :D

I give you a choice! It is not necessarily an exclusive or!!

a) BKS/SfSE

b) Being Moody/Getting Sentimental

P.S. You are awesome!

Swordplay.

[identity profile] essbeejay.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Your icon. So much win.

Much like Fashion Sense cemented my characterization of Bubbles (even though you don't get that whole sense of her character from the v. short fic), Swordplay was the one that cemented the Greens', um, totally fucked up relationship. Stemming off of that fic were a slew of attempts to write really dysfunctional smut!fic involving the two, particularly where Buttercup was the instigator. It kinda spiraled off of where Swordplay was going at the end, where Buttercup turns into this sinister, manipulative woman, and pretty much fucks up Butch's sanity in the process. Or his shreds of it.

The fic ideas themselves though always came out too melodramatic, and all the sex scenes got old real quick (MUCH LIKE REAL PORN, INTERESTING), so they never became full-fledged fics. At least one of them (wait, maybe two) will make it as "totally fucking rejected" posts at some point, when I stop being lazy.

For the record, TEF... well, TEF's a little different because of where I'm putting them mentally... gah, you'll see. (I AM TRYING NOT TO SPOIL THINGS.)

:DDD

Wow. Yeah, man, this is really interesting because Swordplay is pretty much the definitive fic in which I base my characterizations of the Greens. It was the first thing of yours that I read and left me with my jaw on the floor. Set the bar, y'know? It's like you took key elements of their characters and pushed in deep to get to the absolute grit, laying their 'relationship' spread and like, raw. Which turned out to be ...y'know, totally fucked up, but in the hottest possible way.

I'm actually kind of glad it wasn't porn (NOT THAT I WOULD OBJECT TO ANY TFR POSTS, 'CAUSE ...DUDE. GREENS DRAMA. UNF) because this way, I think it has more of an impact. It leaves you biting your lip and wanting to just read it over and over again.

*flails* MY THINLY VEILED IMPATIENCE, LET ME SHOW YOU IT. *flails some more*

DAWWWWW

Seriously, thank you for that whole "jaw on the floor, set the bar" bit. I am full of sheepishness and humility. Swordplay was the first fic where I was really, truly satisfied with what I'd written, and despite some minor grievances I have with the dialogue, that's one of the few where I look back and say, "Wow. That came out of me 8O" with a positive connotation. So it's particularly rewarding when someone digs it (OR BASES THEIR OWN CHARACTERIZATIONS ON IT AND THEN WRITES SOMETHING AMAZING LIKE THIS (http://spleneticfizz.livejournal.com/1447.html), SERIOUSLY IT STILL FLOORS ME).

In short, er, thank you and yay!
