ARGH DAMMIT I NEED STUFF TO READ.

So again, my options are working on housework, working on TEF, and putzing about doing nothing productive whatsoever. Since the first option doesn't really exist in my brain and inspiration for the second seems to have been spent already, let's go with the third.

What you are about to find out about the third involves me whipping out some crazy quasi-fic!idea that will never get written because there's too many implausibilities and I could never get it to work and also it's way smuttier than anything I would actually write (although at this point maybe I shouldn't put that past myself) but okay, really, the reason I wouldn't write it is because it's merely that, an idea, and won't take off any more than that. You know. It's like ideas that maybe kinda sound good but when you think about it, I mean really think about it, no. No it just won't work.

So then. To satisfy whatever need I feel to share it (and procrastinate on housework), a brief summary of melodramatic smut!fun involving the Reds. Warning: totally R-rated. I say that as if some of you will actually be deterred by that fact, but I know better.

The way this "story" starts out is such: Townsville is under siege by all the villains joining up forever years into the future, maybe something like fifteen years or whatever. They've captured Blossom and have been holding her prisoner for a year or so. Her sisters, after about six months of attempts to rescue her, have been absent for months, throwing all the villains into a tizzy because they know Buttercup and Bubbles are just out there, somewhere, waiting to strike with MIGHTY JUSTICE. And they're also pissed off because they've a plan of MIGHTY EVIL to capture them, and make a very symbolic gesture of destroying Townsville's heroes or some other stupid villain shit like that, whatever.

But the girls haven't been around. They suspect Blossom could be tapped for information/clues as to where her sisters are, since as far as they can tell the girls aren't in the city. Rather than keep her in a dank, dirty cell, what they've instead done is isolated her from everything in a stark white "living space." Think a barebones living room + bedroom + bathroom. Completely isolated. She has no sense of the passage of time, when day becomes night, etc., etc. Nothing. She knows absolutely nothing, except that she's being kept alive and healthy and she doesn't know why that even is. A gaseous form of Antidote X is pumped into her room, and it's also in the water she drinks and bathes in, so she never fully regains her powers. She's gone on various little strikes and protests - hunger strikes, bathing strikes, what have you, but then she just gets gassed and fed intravenously or power-showered. The gas leaves her fuzzy headed and she feels constantly drugged when on it, so she just stops and becomes a very quiet, "obedient" prisoner.

The reason she isn't being tortured or hasn't been killed yet is because you attract more bees with honey than vinegar, and the villains (with Mojo being the brainchild behind everything) are trying to induce Stockholm Syndrome in her. For whatever reason it isn't taking, since she isn't giving them any information when she's visited for interrogating, and blah blah blah. They don't concern themselves with the possibility of Blossom committing suicide because it's Blossom, and if she's got the tiniest sliver of something to live for--the fact that her family is still alive and safe somewhere--she wouldn't kill herself anyway.

This is where Mojo brings Brick in, and most of the story really happens from his point of view. Brick's been a very impressive "soldier," in the way he's lead his brothers on raids/attacks, and he was responsible for capturing Blossom in the first place. He has not been utilized for interrogating her up to this point; instead he's been out with his brothers searching day in and day out for her sisters, and while they've gotten some leads very occasionally, all of them have been dead ends. So Brick is assigned to essentially gut Blossom for any information she may have, and is encouraged to use any means necessary short of killing her or chopping things off. Brick accepts.

He's permitted to shut off surveillance for the duration of his interrogation, and pays her a visit. (Yes, I'm sure many of you can see where this is going.) He makes all kinds of dark threats when she doesn't answer in a cooperative manner, but she doesn't seem the least bit fazed. She actually treats it like it's some kind of joke, laughing as if they're just exchanging pleasant conversation over drinks or something. Without losing his cool, he makes some offhanded but still threatening comment about raping her, and instead of inspiring fear or shock in her she smirks (something that looks eerie and completely out of place on her) and jumps him, basically saying she would totally be into that.

Alright, so this is the first point where it gets fuzzy. Either Blossom successfully jerks him off or, uh, there's fellatio or something, or she just succeeds in touching certain things and making Brick really uncomfortable instantly, because he's totally a virgin and male and at that age when you kinda want to, well, you know, and it throws him so violently off course that he leaves (RUNS AWAY). He composes himself enough to let Mojo know that his session with Blossom was unsuccessful, and Mojo asks if he'd like to give it another try. Brick says he'll think about it and goes back to his quarters and showers for a long time and doesn't sleep for even longer. He realizes that he underestimated her (NO! REALLY?!), and resolves to, you know, not be such a dumbass 20-something year old with raging hormones and a lot of sexual frustration because he's spending all his time being evil instead of getting tail like normal dumbass 20-something year olds with raging hormones. He agrees to do another session.

The second time he shuts off surveillance, convinced that he won't fuck up this time. He goes in and totally fucks up. I mean, she starts talking, and starts taking things off, and succeeds 120% in completely derailing his train of thought and distracting him with her awesome 20-something year old feminine figure and what the fuck are they giving her to wear anyway and how's she doing her laundry, I mean, you see where I hadn't thought this through, it's pretty stupid.

So Brick fucks up. Not only does he fuck up, but he kinda gets into it, much to his chagrin. He hasn't actually sexed her yet, but, um, wow. She's got a smoking bod and she may or may not be into him and this time before he leaves she says if she gives him a clue he has to promise to come back. So she whispers something to him and her tongue is in his mouth and he's kinda, um, confused because he's only barely thinking with his brain, and oh yeah she totally made him come. When he reports back to Mojo he passes on what Blossom said, making a point of telling Mojo she may very well be lying.

And then it turns out not to be a lie. They arrive at whatever place the girls and the Professor have been hiding out and while they're not there it's clear that they were very, very recently, and they stake out some folks there and celebrate a lot and Brick is encouraged to go back and work some more of his magic.

Brick goes back. Blossom asks him if it helped, and he basically says well you're not gonna die yet. And she seems satisfied with that answer, and gets him to sit on the couch with her and then she gets really close and kissy. She missed him, she can't stop thinking about him, she lies in bed at night or whatever time of day it happens to be wishing he was there, blah blah blah. And at some point Brick has to call her out on this and say Look, I know what you're fucking doing, this whole seducing business, and it's not fucking working so you don't have to bother. And then she succeeds in getting his pants off and having sex with him anyway.

And oh wow, does his world open up. Of course it's quick because he's young and inexperienced and shit, does he get embarrassed, but it's her first time too and she tells him it'll be better anyway next time and then she gives him another lead.

The lead checks out, they miss the girls by that much, and some very ecstatic villains encourage Brick to go work his magic again, by the way, the surveillance tape shows Blossom's just been hanging out in her bedroom lying in bed for the past week or whatever, go check what the hell's up while you're at it and make sure she isn't dead.

Brick enters, delivers a cautious greeting to an empty living room, and makes his way to the bedroom. Just as he reaches the door, Blossom shows up in barely a sheet and drags him into bed, asking him what took so fucking long.

He doesn't come out for hours. They're in bed the whole damn time, and Brick can't believe how fucking gorgeous she is, how sexy and adorable she looks when she's gasping his name and begging him for more. (Yeah, this is a little kinky.) It blows his fucking mind. I mean, he's twenty years old with no sexual experience whatsoever and it's like, I mean, damn. It's like he's won the fucking lottery, or at least it feels that way to him.

They pass out and when he wakes up he freaks a bit, because clearly it's been hours since he entered (HA IT'S KIND OF A PUN) and she calms him down, assuring him he'll think of something, and apologizing because she's running out of clues and can't give him one this time. She's afraid he's not going to come back, so she promises him a lead first thing next time he shows up, and he leaves and tells everyone she's being difficult, that's why the interrogation took so long and why he doesn't have another lead, but he'll try again in a couple of days.

And on and on it goes. It's kinda like The Graduate, only Blossom's not thirty years his senior and they actually appear to be doing it a lot more often than Hoffman and Bancroft. I know. It's insane. That's why I'm not actually writing it.

So anyway. Blossom asks Brick one day to bring in a red silk scarf the next time he visits and she'll give him a real bitchin' lead, yeah I have no idea how it can be more bitchin' than the others but believe me, IT'S BITCHIN'. He obliges her, and holy crap kinky. She tells him she loves him as she comes, which for some crazy insane reason causes him to lose it and come too, and then she whispers it again as they're falling asleep. When he wakes up, he looks at his watch and realizes he's spent the entire night with her, fuck, but then she wakes up and the first thing she does is tell him that really bitchin' lead. She says it's her last, that she doesn't have any more, but she hopes he'll come back anyway. He gets dressed and as he's leaving, she tells him she meant what she said the night before. He pauses, then comes back and kisses her, telling her he loves her too.

He gives Mojo Blossom's last lead and this time it hits. They capture the girls and do a lot of celebrating, and now Brick doesn't have a reason to go visit, and he starts to go a little fucking crazy. He doesn't know what to do with himself, he finds everything pointless and meaningless and just wants to see her but can't even make a solid argument for wanting to keep an eye on the surveillance cameras. Meanwhile, they all discuss what they're going to do now that they have all three girls. Brick realizes they're going to kill her, and he does something--either kills the supply of Antidote X to her holding area or goes back to her, unable to stand the thought of killing her, and she thanks him for coming back and escapes, locking him in, and then she somehow manages to set her sisters free and somehow they all get their powers back and then launch an attack on the villains' base from the inside.

HUGE FUCKIN' BATTLE TIME.

Brick is released by his brothers and is kinda um. Stunned. He doesn't really want to fight her. Blossom is a little... aloof and weird and being kinda mean to him and there's a lot of people pissed off at her, and she's not paying a lick of attention to Brick. And he realizes he totally got played. And it breaks his heart.

But no, she kissed him and they spent so much time together and she said she loved him and she meant it, or at least she said she did, and he detonates something that paralyzes everybody in the huge convenient room they're all battling in and then de/un-paralyzes her with the extremely convenient de/un-paralyzer gun thingy and demands to know if she meant it.

She coldly tells him she doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, and he tries to weasel it out of her without saying the word "love" in front of everybody who can hear them even though they can't move, and she still plays dumb and finally he loses it and screams Did you mean it when you said you loved me

And she laughs in his face and screams back OF COURSE I DIDN'T YOU FUCKING IDIOT.

She tells him she was faking it from day one, that she plotted it out and was waiting for the right one to come in, the one who'd be stupid enough to fall for it, fall for her and wind up bringing the entire coalition of Very Bad Guys down so she and her sisters could make things right again.

Brick aims the de/un-paralyzing gun thingy at her sisters and sets them free. And then he destroys every other fucking weapon in the room that could be used against the girls. And then he just gives the stunned Blossom this look and doesn't say anything, or maybe he tells her to just go, before everyone else recovers, because the gun's effects will only hold for so long, and after he watches them take off he walks past all the people he's just betrayed, including his brothers, and goes back to her old cell and sits on the edge of the bed, waiting for some really fucking pissed off villains to come rip him to pieces.

See, it's very tragic and stuff.

So there's none of this stark white room shit for Brick. He's fucking crucified. Kept in a dark corner God knows where, beaten to shit, starved, you name it. And all the while he's interrogated on what he knows about the girls, where he thinks they've gone, with the promise of forgiveness and a willingness to forget it all happened constantly dangled in front of him. He doesn't know anything anyway, but he refuses to even speak to them. And they get pissed off, and his life basically turns to shit.

Finally, Butch and Boomer pay him a visit. And they tell him they've been kept under lock and key too ever since The Incident, nobody trusts anyone anymore and they haven't been able to plan a way to get him out of here, so he's got to fucking tell them something, anything, because everybody else is planning to kill him unless he says something. They implore him to make something up when he tells them he seriously doesn't know anything, but he doesn't respond. They don't say it, but it kills them to see him like this.

After some very frustrated attempts at getting a very unresponsive Brick to help them figure out how to get him out, they're forcefully taken away. A week later--Brick can't really tell, he's not aware of the passage of time where he is--he's taken out and subjected to another beating, and is told that if he doesn't say anything, he's going to fucking die.

He doesn't say anything. And then he gets the shit kicked out of him and he's thrown back into his corner of cell to rot to death.

He fades in and out of consciousness for awhile. There's faint explosions and what sounds like a heated scuffle far away that gets closer and closer as time goes on, and finally he hears the lock on his cell opening, and Blossom gathers him up and tears out of there, collecting her sisters and his brothers (in the midst of fighting) on the way. She delivers some hasty, hushed apologies for taking so long, sounding like she's on the verge of tears as she pleads for him to hold on, and he just clings to her and whispers he loves her before he passes out.

And then he wakes up somewhere like a makeshift hospital room or something all cleaned up but still weak and Blossom's in the room with him looking distraught and teary. She tells him how his brothers managed to get in touch with them, how she'd been frantically trying to devise a plan to get him out, and finally with the five of them they'd managed to throw something together and rescue him and thank God he wasn't dead and she was sorry, so so sorry when she said she didn't mean it and kisses him.

THE END.

Now. Why this would not work as an actual story.

1) The general mechanics of figuring out clues Blossom could give Brick and somehow have them add up to OH! RESCUE! were impossible to work out. Well, not impossible, but I'm lazy, and it was a very weak foundation to build a complicated plot out of anyway. You could argue that the Girls had devised an Emergency Plan for when everything absolutely went to shit, but there's too much room for fuckups, and, yeah, it was impossible.

2) Blossom turning herself into a sex fiend for purposes of staging a complex deceive-and-betray plan to escape. On the one hand, I can see her compromising her morals and values if pushed to that point, hence the length and circumstances of her captivity. But I could only buy it maybe 50% of the time. The other 50% was spent speculating on whether she'd actually lose it enough to do something like this. I still believe that yes, she could eventually, but the fact that I kept second guessing myself convinced me that if I was having trouble buying it, then how could I expect to sell it to anyone who read it?

3) General plotting overall. You'll see my random comments strung thoughout this thing grumbling something half-assed and not delving into the characters' motivations for committing certain actions, and that's because I could never entirely convince myself that Blossom would do this, or Brick would do that. I do, however, think Brick would generally react the way I imagined he would, but unfortunately I don't believe in the rest of the idea strongly enough.

4) Melodrama. This... is a horrifically melodramatic story. And while a part of me really loves melodrama, because I am a chick, after all, a part of me was getting really sick with how sappy this story got. So... yeah. I simultaneously loved and hated parts of it. Kind of like those of us whose guilty pleasure is bad soap operas, or trashy romance novels, or watching Grey's Anatomy religiously even though it hasn't been worth watching since Season 2 ended. Yeah, like that.

5) The heavy smut factor. Honestly, the only... motivation there would be for reading/writing this story would be smut, and while smut is fantastic and great a lot of the time, especially when done well, I just don't have that many sex scenes in me. I also didn't feel like there was anything else in the story strong enough to carry it outside of the sex, at least anything else I couldn't pull off slightly better in a less smutty story, so that's that. No soft core porn for you guys, sorry :( Most of the story ideas I wind up rejecting are because of this reason. I just can't make a smut!fic work!

So there you have it! It's like my version of Rejected, except unlike Hertzfeldt's film this is an idea I flat out rejected myself without the help of other people. Also his was made up, but hilarious nonetheless EVERYBODY WATCH IT.

Anyway. That wound up being a ridiculously lengthy post. I guess I succeeded at delaying my housework a little too well...
