Making hard decisions
With ch10a posted (for those who can't access FFNet, I'll have the chapter up here soon - aiming for this weekend) and ch11 semi-off for beta, I'm now cracking open ch11a for the first time in nearly a month to start tidying it up. Let's keep this train running!
It's not nearly the mess that the previous chapters were (if you're keeping track, ch10a was a straight-up rewrite and ch11 was tying up the major loose ends that were affected by ch10a's straight-up rewrite), and with ch11a also being a bit of a side adventure there's less aggro involved in the self-edit phase for me. I only have two rewrite notes at the top that consist of a "CUT THIS" note and a "MAYBE CUT THIS?" note. (And yeah, I'm probably gonna cut it.)
After ch10a gets posted here I've got a decent amount of tfr stuff to share from it. When I did my initial read-through, already armed with the knowledge that I was going to lose most, if not all of it, I was a mix of happy and disappointed to find that I was really proud of a lot of the descriptive prose I'd managed for it. Good on me! Now to cut it all! But it was the right choice and that's the whole point of my tfr tag anyway.
Also floating the possibility of moving future chaps to AO3 after the infuriating amount of trouble I had posting ch10a on FFNet last week. We'll see. I've got time to figure that out. Maybe a year or so (j/k j/k ♥)
And yeah the ficlets are somewhere in the mix there, too, I promise!

First comment on here ever
Alright first time posting anything on this site, got an account just to interact, support, and comment on your work/updates!
Right now i'm down a hand and doing this on my phone lol ( which I'm using talk-to-text for some of this so I'm so sorry for any typos that I miss)
BUT JUST YOU WAIT LOTS OF COMMENTS ARE COMING
I just wanted to drop in and scream YES TO AO3 (I feel so guilty I just read your fic, but I didn't comment...bc I don't have an ffn account ;3; but I'm about to run through here and I hope you cross posted so I can reread and comment properly YOU DESERVE EVERY DANG COMMENT)
I swear a better comment is coming, a flood of effort and words coming at ya!
I'm just gonna...peruse through this blog and drop ya all the love ♡ hope you don't mind lol
I also wanted to say how impressed I am with you being able to cut things from your writing because that's something I've been struggling with. I know I shouldn't be attached to the bad things I've written they're bad they need to go but it's like oh man I put in all this hard work!!
So it's nice to hear someone talk about how they make these decisions and they cut things and as I read your work and it really shows! because everything you have is so polished and nice I can't even imagine what you didn't deem as acceptable.
Writing is a giant process and it's the final editing step that I know I need to improve on so I super enjoy hearing you talk about your process. ♡
