In case you're watching this space

Here's what you're looking for.

More Than Human, ch10

Title: More Than Human
Chapter 10: Tried to Stick A Dead Body Inside of Me, or I Think You Should Know You're His Favorite Worst Nightmare
Pairing: RrB/PpG
Rating: R/M, because they're teenagers and a good handful of them use terrible, filthy language.
Disclaimer: Pay your respect to Craig, not me.
Summary: There is no way I can make this sound original, ever. My attempt to write a believable RrB/PpG in high school fic. Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal. – Camus
Notes: Immense thanks to my betas, Arrows and Red, who took up the editing arms and helped me drag this blasted chapter across the Finish Line; thanks always to mathkid and juxtaposie, who helped it to the Starting Line all those years ago.

More Than Human. Ch. 10 – Tried to Stick A Dead Body Inside of Me, or I Think You Should Know You're His Favorite Worst Nightmare. ~27,466 words.

Wow. I always knew you'd update but. This was so much more than I could have ever dreamed it would be. The way you started with the dreams and the school-rivalry pranks really eased me back into the fic, and then like an A team sharpshooter you took my knees out with .40 caliber feels. I can sense the real storm that's been brewing is lurking on the horizon now. I gotta say I didn't see the thing with Peggy coming at all.

*SPOILERS*
I really like the characterization you're developing with Julie. I wasn't sure how you were going to handle her, but I really love that a) she's actively taking notes from Bubbles and b) she has enough guts and self-respect to voice that she's pissed at Brick for using her as a prop. Speaking of, I have a love-hate thing with Brick so seeing him pissed off and inarticulate, and then concussed and reflexively protective of Blossom had my heart smug yet confused. I love it. I also love watching him lose his sense of control. Oh, how the mighty fall.

Dream-sequences? Hell yes. Connecting that shit to vortex-dream-reality sequences? So well executed and timed, but holy shit, my poor children. Thank you for patching the readers' hearts back up with some wholesome greens vulnerability. Honestly their interactions are my favorite (with Bubbles and Brick a close second), because they are so emotionally intimate and were the first to be so, despite an utter lack of emotional intelligence on both sides. The trust they have kills me every time.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't scream when the chapter ended. It was a heart-wrenching, brilliant little cliffhanger. Enough content that I was satisfied with some distressing things wrapping up, yet with so many burning questions about what happens next.
