I really wish they'd released the series as individual seasons like they originally intended to, as opposed to the complete series box set version we got (with cheapo double-sided discs, ugh). My absolute favorite aspect of that initial release was the discs were Blossom's eyes, and when you opened the case they sat perfectly framed in her adorable little face.

Argh. God. It's too much to ask for nice things sometimes.

:/ that sucks, I was thinking about getting that complete series box since they took the PPG from Netflix.
Is it worth it despite its flaws or should I save my money?

Still worth it, imo! For me, the packaging is disappointing, especially compared to the individual Season 1 release - the box it comes packaged in is that flimsy poster-board like material rather than the nice chipboard (fine for 1-2 disc releases, but kinda dumb for something that's supposed to house 6 individual DVD cases), and the double-sided discs are a big disappointment. Hell, I would've been happier with one plastic case that had all the discs in it, similar to the Daria complete series DVD release.

But! It is still a reasonably priced DVD set ($50 for 6 seasons, I mean, that's less than $10/season), so if what's important to you is having the original PpG series, then go for it!
