Well this is all sorts of awesome right here.
A lesson hard learned. Again.
Captain Sparklypants (my writing netbook) appears to have crashed again (it did this a little over a year ago). I don't have a way of accessing my files at the moment, and after checking the drive I use to back up my files, it would appear that I have been incredibly lazy and have not backed up my files since the end of 2009. (Since I didn't do a lot of writing in 2010, it would make sense that I fell out of the habit and was much more lax about backing up my files than when I was writing on a daily basis; I used to back up my files to USB every week.)
Thankfully this doesn't affect TEF all that much; I completed ch10a last week, sent it off to beta, and haven't worked on it since, so whatever material I have that's yet to be backed up at least exists in e-mail attachments. But some things like my list of chapter titles and notes for other various projects (and future posts)... those don't exist anywhere except on Captain Sparklypants. Grumble grumble.
Let this be a lesson to everybody - BACK UP YOUR SHIT. I need to set a weekly reminder or something. ARGH.
On the plus side, since it's a solid state drive rather than a hard drive, it's easy to restore. Doesn't really help my damn files, but at least I can get the Captain running again within the evening.
SIIIIIIIGH
