We can dork if we want to.
Geek day! I have this thing about PpG tees - that is, I must own them. In the past I have alternated between needing to own ANY ARTICLE OF CLOTHING WITH THEIR LIKENESS ON IT (this is part of the reason why I have PpG flip-flops that I will never wear, 1) because I hate flip-flops and 2) because they are sized for a toddler) and questioning whether it's a something I would actually wear. I tend to err on the latter's side nowadays, but there are exceptions to every rule. (I refuse to get rid of my calendars and bedsheets, and the best gift my s.o. has ever given me has been two PpG ceramic incense holders, brought back from overseas ♥)
My "collection" ranges from a couple of shirts bought back when The WB Store was still in business to the Girls' run at Target to eBay (I owe a lot to eBay). These days the stuff I actually wear is mostly from the Girls' run on the Mighty Fine/Doe label.
And, in light of a recent acquisition from aPpG fan who oozes sexy lovely friend of mine in Singapore, imma share pieces of my collection with you fine folks.
In other words, CAMWHORE PICSPAM!

jupitrie actually made a post alerting the public to this shirt like two days after I found it and bought it! I got it from Hot Topic (ridiculous, but the go-to place for anything I want with a cartoon character on it these days) and unfortunately it's no longer there. That store's merch turnover is friggin' ridiculous (though that last PpG tee I got from them is still available, miraculously). A shame, because it is one of my favorites - it's a great fit and is super super comfortable. That other one with the purple sleeves is already losing its shape in the torso; it's so cheaply made! Fucking $26 shirt, that sort of thing shouldn't start happening by the 2nd wash >:C This black one has held up great, though, and I look forward to wearing it every time. Both are from the same Cartoon Retro tee line. I guess they have the CTN/Nick account for tees now. Kinda disappointing; while I get tired of Mighty Fine/Doe's forced "indie vintage" take on everything, they put out some really nicely designed shirts. Maybe next Saturday I'll post a pic of my favorite designed tee from them.

And this is why I loved the stuff on the Mighty Fine/Doe label. This is a designed shirt. It's got a look! Sketchy lines (♥♥♥), simple painted effect, plus a very nice diagonal that really catches the eye. Plus it's extremely soft and comfortable. This shirt would be damn near perfect if the tag didn't scratch like a motherfucker, and the clouds are kinda shitty looking, but I tend to forget they're there.

Another pic so you can see Blossom's precious face, also my favorite Fedora.

One of my slightly older shirts, compared to the last two. Unfortunately time (read: multiple washings later) has faded the once-beautifully-deep-and-lustrous-black to that faded, red-tinged soft black so many dark loads succumb to. This is a tank top I got off of eBay and was my favorite for a long time.

I liked the graphics a lot; I'm a sucker for the monochromatic Girls in their respective squares.

The oldest PpG shirt still in use, and even then I'm sorry to say I don't wear it that often anymore. This actually used to be a beautiful white tank top with black edging; I ruined it by washing it with a rug (IT WAS A MISTAKE I SWEAR) and causing it to turn an ugly vomit green. I then managed to salvage it somewhat by bleaching the green out (which of course completely ruined the black and turned it to the maroon color it is now), then dyed it a faint purple. It actually worked out very well; everybody thought I'd purchased it that way. But it doesn't look nearly as vibrant as it used to. The Girls don't pop as much. Somewhere there are pictures of me in its original glory - ALMOST TEN YEARS AGO. HOLY SHIT, THIS SHIRT IS TEN YEARS OLD. PROBABLY SLIGHTLY MORE. Damn, it's doing pretty good for its age. (Note: I hang dry practically all of my clothing, which probably helps.)

Another from the Mighty Fine/Doe line. I got this one from their annual warehouse sale ($8, super cheap!), so it was kinda take what you can find, and this was the only size they had - a Small. (I have a small torso but broad shoulders, which causes some mild clothing grief - everything I own is either too tight around the shoulders/armpits or hangs weirdly.) You can see how tight it is around my tummy in this pic. That aside, like its pink sister up above, it's also made with a super-comfy fabric, and I like the slightly-too-high placement of Bubbles and her kit - it's a little touch, but a nice one. Also, "I'm in the band" totally feels like something Bubbles would say ♥

Okay, this is kinda cheating. It's not a PpG tee, it's a MWGG tee. But hey, the two are pretty closely related. Diagonals + too-big design + highly stylized graphic look + monochromatic color scheme = LOVELOVELOVE. Also, of note is the charm around my neck, who you may perhaps recognize?

Perhaps at some point I'll share the actual (face-front) designs of all three charms :)

The newest of my babies! From a dear darling lovely half an Earth away. Our conversation basically went something like this.
Her: Hey so there is this PpG polo I have that you should have instead
Me: What
Her: It is a Small
Me: Okay
Her: Also it is a child's shirt
Me: Wait
Her: Okay it's in the mail
As you can see, it totally fits. Short along the torso, but not nearly as tight around the shoulders as I expected. Yes, I appear to have the body of a ten-year-old (often a source of great grief for the s.o., who has endured some very withering looks in public). I have yet to wear this one for real!

This is the back, it is awesome.
Loooooooove youuuuuuuuuu ♥
