I'm kind of a posting fool this week.
Particularly at the rl lj. Also, the start of the companion meme to this one.
This will be a hard one for me, since I don't deliberate on this couple as much as the other two. At the same time, it'll probably be a good chance for me to really pick apart this particular pairing.
100 Questions about the Blues: 1-10
1. Greetings! What's your name? We covered this.
2. Please name the pairing you choose (A/B). Bubbles/Boomer.
3. What gets you interested towards the pair? Not much, initially, but they've really started growing on me. I suppose I like... Boomer in particular. Granted, he's my least favorite of the boys (though I like them all), but what interests me is I see him having to struggle with the sacrifices he'd make to be with Bubbles - not at first, I think he'd be the easiest to... "convert" out of the boys. His conflict would come later, during the relationship. Though for the most part they'd be all sweetness and cute, which can be a refreshing change :D
4. How long have you been shipping the ship? Er... as long as this one?
5. When did you first discover the pair? See previous.
6. How do you think they feel about each other? Sickeningly cutesy, with Boomer (at times) getting overly possessive and Bubbles doubting her decision to be with a villain.
7. What did they talk to each other about when they first met? What tends to come up in a normal conversation? Interests, movies, what they did over the weekend - this is the one that would start out "normal," unlike the Greens or the Reds.
8. Who fell in love first? There's an image I really like that Powerprof used in A Difference in Kind:
With Boomer and Bubbles it had been such a natural thing. They were so close in spirit it was like watching two trees growing side by side, whose branches intertwined more and more as they matured. They themselves probably couldn’t point to a specific moment when they went from being friends to being more than friends, but long ago it had become impossible to imagine the one without the other.
So yeah, I'm totally cheating on this answer by not mulling it over myself, but the image sticks with me, and it's always felt very true to me for the couple. By the way, if you haven't read that fic yet, for the love of God, what are you waiting for.
9. When did they start to notice each other? In what situation? It's mundane stuff, the little real things that couples in love (particularly couples in love who don't realize it right away) always notice - how they walk when they're in a mood, how they smile when something totally awesome just happened, exactly how they hold a pencil, what they do when they get nervous... it's a day by day thing for them, baby steps all the way.
10. How did they confess their feelings towards each other? With lots of sugar and whipped cream and cherries on top and someone standing nearby with the insulin at the ready.
Oof, this one is way harder than the Greens.
